Climate mainly drives spatial distributions of soil fauna population and biomass in the Loess Plateau and enhances them from 2000 to 2022 with total biomass equivalent to 2 Mt carbon in 2022, as revealed by samples in 19 grass sites, environmental data and geospatial interpolations.
