C-H-activated Csp²-Csp³ diastereoselective gridization enables ultraviolet-emitting stereo-molecular nanohydrocarbons with mulitple H···H interactions

Gridization is useful for creating multifunctional organic semiconductors. Here, the authors report a C-H activatived gridization to synthesize UV-emitting molecular nanohydrocarbon, setting high external quantum efficiency for hydrocarbon-based UV-OLEDs.

FRQ-CK1 interaction determines the period of circadian rhythms in Neurospora

Circadian clocks control daily rhythms of molecular and physiological activities. Here, the authors show that the interaction between proteins FRQ and CK1, rather than FRQ stability, is a major rate-limiting step in circadian period determination in the model fungus Neurospora.

Active and stable alcohol dehydrogenase-assembled hydrogels via synergistic bridging of triazoles and metal ions

Biocatalysis using immobilized enzymes is increasingly replacing traditional methods of manufacturing fine chemicals but heir industrial applications are limited by the low specific activity and poor stability. Here, the authors report a feasible strategy utilizing the synergistic bridging of triazoles and metal ions to induce the formation of porous enzyme-assembled hydrogels with increased activity.
