The mantle source of REE-rich alkaline silicate magmas can be enriched by continent-derived sediment subduction

Subduction of sediment, derived from weathered continental crust, can enrich the mantle in critical metals and volatiles. Melting of such enriched mantle produces alkaline magmas that may form major rare-earth deposits.

Aspergillus minisclerotigenes, linked to fatal aflatoxicosis in Kenya, shares high genetic similarity with A. flavus and A. parasiticus. However, genome analysis reveals key differences in aflatoxin gene clusters and enzymes, crucial for food safety and risk assessment.
