Colloidal semiconductor core-shell nanocrystals are sought after for photonic applications. Here, the authors report coherent heteroepitaxial growth of Ag(In,Ga)S₂ core-shell nanocrystals with near-unity photoluminescence quantum yield across almost the full visible range.

Strain-graded quantum dots with spectrally pure, stable and polarized emission

Structural deformation can modify the optical properties of quantum dots. Here, the author report strain-graded CdSe-ZnSe quantum dots, allowing for spectrally stable and pure emission of photons at accelerated rates with near unity luminescence efficiency.
