The use of metal carbenes to catalyse difluorocarbene transfer reactions has long been hindered by the lack of understanding of metal difluorocarbene chemistry. Here, the authors report a synthesis of gem-difluoropropargylated compounds via copper-catalyzed difluorocarbene transfer.
