A single-cell multiomic immune cell atlas from 235 Japanese, including patients with COVID-19 and healthy individuals, linked with host genetics including germline and somatic mutation, plasma proteomics and metagenomics data reveals that immune cells are dynamically regulated in a cell state-dependent manner.

Here, the authors show that monoubiquitination of IRS-2 by the ubiquitin ligase Nedd4 recruits IRS-2 to the cell membrane and increases IRS-2 phosphorylation and IGF signalling.

Here, the authors show in animal models of viral and chronic lung diseases that supersulphide production can mitigate lung pathology and lethal effects, highlighting their protective role and potential as a therapeutic target.

Hidewaki Nakagawa and colleagues report the whole-genome sequencing of 27 hepatocellular carcinomas. They find that chromatin regulators were mutated in approximately 50% of tumors.
