Frustrated magnetic systems with anisotropic exchange interactions are an interesting platform for uncovering exotic quantum states. Here, the authors explore how pressure influences the magnetic structures and quasiparticle excitations in quasi-1D YbCuS2, revealing that pressure modifies exchange interactions, thereby turning the ground state from an incommensurate helical magnetic order to a commensurate odd-parity magnetic multipole order where gapless excitations are suppressed.
