Green synthesis of stable hybrid biocatalyst using a hydrogen-bonded, π-π-stacking supramolecular assembly for electrochemical immunosensor

Integration of nanomaterials and enzymes has potential in the development of robust biocatalysts, but preparation can still be technically challenging. Here, the authors report the preparation of a hydrogen-bonded organic framework biocatalyst and its use as an immunosensor.

NCF4 attenuates colorectal cancer progression by modulating inflammasome activation and immune surveillance

The NADPH oxidase 2 (NOX2) complex is a main reactive oxygen species (ROS) source during inflammation. Here the authors report that NCF4, a subunit of the NOX2 complex, acts a sensor of ROS levels and regulates NLRP3 and AIM2 inflammasome activation, associated with attenuated colorectal cancer progression.

Tetrathiomolybdate induces dimerization of the metal-binding domain of ATPase and inhibits platination of the protein

Tetrathiomolybdate (TM) and Cu-ATPases, e.g. Wilson (WLN) protein, affect the efficacy of common anticancer drug cisplatin. Here, the authors show that TM generates a protein dimer with a WLN domain by expelling copper and provide insight into the synergy of TM and cisplatin in cancer chemotherapy.
