Untethered microrobots are pivotal in advancing bionics, biomedicine, and micromechanics, yet mimicking the complex movements of natural microorganisms remains challenging. Here, the authors present a laser-based technique using lattice metamaterials to improve the flexibility of hydrogel-based microrobots, creating light-driven lattice soft microrobots (LSMR).
