Identification of a SNAI1 enhancer RNA that drives cancer cell plasticity

Enhancer RNAs (eRNAs) regulate gene expression in cancer. Here, the authors identify the eRNA SNAI1e as a key activator of SNAI1 expression, promoting TGF-β-induced EMT, migration, and chemotherapy resistance in breast cancer by enhancing BRD4 enrichment at the SNAI1 enhancer.

An idiosyncratic zonated stroma encapsulates desmoplastic liver metastases and originates from injured liver

Cancer liver metastases can be encapsulated by a fibrotic stroma. Here the authors use digital pathology to generate spatial growth pattern maps of colorectal cancer liver metastasis and show that prognosis depends on the degree of fibrotic encapsulation.

Small Cajal body-associated RNA 2 (scaRNA2) regulates DNA repair pathway choice by inhibiting DNA-PK
