Fatty liver index (FLI) is a validated marker of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease. Newly diagnosed, never-treated patients with hypertension free of cardiovascular disease (n = 903) were evaluated for 5.2 ± 3.2 years. A high-risk FLI pattern (FLI ≥ 60) has a prognostic value for incident cardiovascular events independent of confounders.
