The crystal BaGa4Se7 is known to exhibit a nonlinear optical response at infrared and terahertz frequencies, where phonons play a key role. Here, the authors study the phonon structure, and assign vibrational modes and Raman tensors to nine spectral peaks dominating polarized Raman measurements.
