Protomelission-like macrofossils from the Xiaoshiba Lagerstätte show features characteristic of dasycladalean green alga, suggesting that Protomelission is unlikely to be an early bryozoan.

Specialized appendages in fuxianhuiids and the head organization of early euarthropods

Chengjiangocaris kunmingensis sp. nov. and Fuxianhuia xiaoshibaensis sp. nov.— early Cambrian fuxianhuiid fossils from a new Lagerstätte in Yunnan, China—show that ancestral arthropods had cephalic organization that included an antenniform first appendage, which corresponds to the deutocerebral head segment of modern arthropods.

An epipodite-bearing crown-group crustacean from the Lower Cambrian

Fossils of 'eucrustacea' (crustaceans of modern aspect) are common in the fossil record from around 500 million years ago. A remarkable new 'Orsten' type Konservat-Lagerstäette from the Lower Cambrian of China reveals the earliest known eucrustacean in exquisite three-dimensional detail, significantly extending the fossil record of this important group.

Early Cambrian fuxianhuiids from China reveal origin of the gnathobasic protopodite in euarthropods

The fuxianhuiids were a group of primitive true arthropods living in the Cambrian period. Here, Yang and colleagues describe a new species of fuxianhuiid, Alacaris mirabilis, from exceptionally-preserved specimens that illustrate the early evolution of specialized arthropod mouthparts.
