Polycyclic N-heterocycles are important structural motifs commonly found in bioactive compounds, however, their selective construction via the cyclization of allenynes remains challenging. Here, the authors develop a copper-catalyzed, temperature-controlled regioselective hetero Diels-Alder reaction of allenynes with cis diazenes to produce a diverse array of polycyclic N-heterocycles.
