The authors present a theoretical proposal which connects two major fields of condensed matter physics: strongly correlated systems and spintronics. By studying the spin pumping effect in the absence of quasiparticles, they propose using it as a novel probe for non-Fermi liquid metals emerging at the quantum critical points.
