The authors propose a strategy to adjust the stacking modes of MOF nanosheets via linker polarity differences. Simulations and experiments reveal that higher linker polarity favors AB stacking, optimizing membrane aperture and enhancing gas sieving.

SNORD88B-mediated WRN nucleolar trafficking drives self-renewal in liver cancer initiating cells and hepatocarcinogenesis

The role of small nucleolar RNAs (snoRNAs) in cancer stem cells (CSCs) is not much explored. Here, the authors identify that the snoRNA SNORD88B drives self-renewal of liver CSCs and liver tumorigenesis through promoting the nucleolar shuttle protein WRN retention in the nucleolus and dysregulation of Hippo signaling.

Safety and feasibility of CRISPR-edited T cells in patients with refractory non-small-cell lung cancer

In a first-in-human phase I trial of patients with advanced lung cancer, infusions of autologous T cells edited to delete the PD-1 gene via CRISPR–Cas9 were well tolerated and did not lead to severe treatment-related adverse events.

Effective ion sieving with Ti₃C₂T_x MXene membranes for production of drinking water from seawater

Two-dimensional lamellar membranes for water purification are promising but suffer from swelling that reduces their ion sieving performance in water. This study reports easy-to-fabricate, non-swelling MXene membranes prepared by the intercalation of Al³⁺ ions that could be scalable.

ARIH1 signaling promotes anti-tumor immunity by targeting PD-L1 for proteasomal degradation

The regulation of PD-L1 via proteasomal degradation is unclear. Here, the authors show that EGFR inhibition activates GSK3 α to promote PD-L1 phosphorylation, which leads to PD-L1 ubiquitination and proteasome mediated degradation by ARIH1 E3 ligase.
