Promoting biomass electrooxidation via modulating proton and oxygen anion deintercalation in hydroxide

Developing catalysts for biomass electrooxidation are critical in electric refinery. The reaction mechanism, however, is still ambiguous. Here, the authors reveal how proton and oxygen anion deintercalation in hydroxide determine the elementary reaction steps in a model reaction of glycerol oxidation.

While (oxy)hydroxides are effective oxygen evolution electrocatalysts, the impacts of pre-catalyst properties on catalyst activities are challenging to assess. Here, authors find Mo dopants in Ni-Fe (oxyhydroxides) to promote lattice oxygen participation and to boost oxygen evolution activities.

Tuning proton-coupled electron transfer by crystal orientation for efficient water oxidization on double perovskite oxides

Proton-coupled electron transfer (PCET) has been observed in chemical, energy, and biological transformation processes. Here we demonstrate that the rate of PCET and oxygen evolution reaction can be dramatically enhanced by tuning crystal orientation and the correlated proton diffusion.

This article summarizes and discuss recent findings on: 1) A high dietary magnesium intake was associated with a lower prevalence of hypertension; 2) An inverse relationship between dietary magnesium with diabetes hyperlipidemia; 3) Monitoring and management of magnesium was important.
