From: Non-collinear spin states in bottom-up fabricated atomic chains
ISTS of bottom-up FeN chains of different numbers N of atoms. a ISTS spectra taken on top of an isolated Fe atom (Fe1, 10) and on the Fe atoms inside Fe2 (8, 9), Fe3 (5, 6, 7), and Fe4 (1, 2, 3, 4) chains with dNN = 4a. For comparison, the spectrum of the isolated Fe1 is shown in gray behind all other spectra. All spectra were normalized by dividing by a substrate spectrum.
