A Design of Cas-responsive mRNA ON switches with a switch-inverter module. The inverter module was inserted between the protein binding motifs for specific Cas proteins and CDS. Cas proteins bind to the sgRNA or crRNA and protect mRNA switches from non-sense mediated mRNA decay (NMD). CDS: coding sequence.
