Panel (a) shows SOX-10-ir, (b) S100β-ir and (c) GFAP-ir. With the exception of GFAP-ir (c) there was no signal overlap between the immunoreactivity of glial and neuronal cells. The white arrows indicate colocalisation of GFAP-ir and Huc/HuD-ir cells. The arrows indicate glial/neuronal overlap. Quantitative analysis of glial cells in MPTP-treated marmosets compared to naϊve controls in the proximal and distal colon is shown in panels (d) and (e), respectively.
