SPT. These lesions often present clinically like a ‘pseudocyst,’ and the reasons for this may also be reflected at the microscopic level as seen in this example. The cyst wall is inflamed and congested, and there are fibrinous changes on the external surfaces (lower left). The cyst contents are granular and hemorrhagic. There is only a thin rim of neoplastic tissue clinging to the cyst wall (box and inset).
