Human Milk Oligosaccharides in Serum of Breastfed Infants

Introduction. Our previous studies have demonstrated the presence of human milk oligosaccharides in urine of breastfed infants⁽¹⁾. This is possible because in neonatal period intestinal permeability is reduced. As a consequence a portion of human milk oligosaccharides is absorbed not modified. The aim of this study is to identify human milk oligosaccharides in infant serum.
