Retraction to: International Journal of Obesity https://doi.org/10.1038/ijo.2013.116, published online 19 June 2013
The Editors in Chief have retracted this article after concerns about images. Specifically,
-
there appears to be a similarity between band gp 91 phoz in Fig. 3C and the FAS band in Fig. 6D;
-
in the “mest” panel in the blot in Fig. 6A, lanes 1–4 and 5–8 appear to be similar but vertically flipped;
-
There appears to be a similarity between the actin band in Fig. 6B and the actin band in Fig. 1A in a previously-published retracted article by the same research group [1].
Additionally, the authors were unable to present evidence that ethics approval had been received for the study.
D. Jude agrees to this retraction. J.I. Shapiro and N.G. Abraham disagree to this retraction. T. D. Hinds did not respond to correspondence from the Editor about this retraction. The Editor has been unable to establish current email addresses for K. Sodhi, N. Puri, D. H. Kim, L. A. Stechschulte, G. Favero, and L. Rodella.
