TO THE EDITOR:

I have read with interest the report by Bhullar et al. on long-term neurodevelopmental impairment (NDI) following preterm premature rupture of membranes (PPROM) in newborns <29 weeks gestation. Based on multivariable analyses, the authors found that “PPROM was not associated with an increased risk of a composite outcome of death and NDI at 3 years” [1]. I find myself struggling with this conclusion for three reasons.
