Alveolar epithelial cells were activated with UP#1 = U. parvum clinical isolate 2990 or UU#1 = U. urealyticum ATCC 27618 at a MOI 10 or MOI 100 in the absence or presence of indicated concentrations of LPS. a After 24 h culture at MOI 10, supernatants were harvested, and the levels of IL-6 and IL-8 were determined by ELISA. b After 48 h at MOI 100, cell damage was determined by quantifying the amounts of LDH released into the supernatants.
