Regression models were adjusted for age, sex, study, body mass index, HbA1c, diabetes duration, total cholesterol, triglycerides, use of lipid-lowering drugs, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, antithrombotic medication, antidepressant medication, and number of diabetes-related comorbidities (model 3).
