They did surgery on a grape!

The recent popularity of an internet video, in which a robot-assisted device performed surgery on a grape made me think about the use of robotics in dentistry. The video demonstrated the incredible precision of the da Vinci Surgical System, posted by Lee Memorial Health System, Florida, peeling a grape.1 With robotics like the da Vinci surgical system assisting in surgery, robots capable of delivering drugs around a hospital and nanobots that are fighting cancer as well as many others, medicine is full of machines that can assist doctors.1,2,3
