Standing in front of a panel of examiners and giving the most important presentation of your degree is a scenario most dental students experience in their final year.1 The General Dental Council (GDC) requires a successful registrant to be able to practise safely and effectively, making the high-quality long-term treatment of patients their priority.2 The exit case is a way of demonstrating this through your patient's journey with you. Your presentation will portray the clinical skills and knowledge you have gained over the course and in the short period of time allocated, you want to present this in the best way possible. The aim here is to highlight the absolute essentials to include in your case as outlined in Table 1, advice on presenting skills as well as some tips to help your case stand out.
