Our front cover picture in this edition will evoke much nostalgia amongst those who had the opportunity to enjoy the cut and thrust of the Rep Board. Merriment was perhaps the unexpected feature on many occasions, not least when the Northern Ireland Representative presented his latest report on the progress, or lack of it, on the negotiations to allow dentists to have flashing green lights on their cars to aid their passage to dental emergencies!
Older members are very sad that our Association has had to leave Wimpole Street, and looking at this photograph of the Representative Board in 1999 will make them even sadder to realise how many good friends have ‘shuffled off this mortal coil', not least the President in the picture, Stuart Robson who we lost only this past year.1 But what happy memories we have that we will treasure for the rest of our days.
