a–d Logarithmic-phase C. glabrata cells were serially 10-fold diluted and spotted onto SC plates containing micafungin, fluconazole, or voriconazole at the indicated concentrations. Plates were incubated at 30 °C for 96 h. e, f Expression levels of CDR1, CDR2, and PDR1 are elevated in the ssb∆ and ssz1∆ strains. qRT-PCR was performed as described in the methods section and in Fig. 2b. Data are expressed as the means ± standard deviations (*P < 0.05; ***P < 0.001; ****P < 0.0001, ordinary one-way ANOVA with Dunnett’s multiple comparison test). qRT-PCR was repeated on three independent occasions with similar results.
