The chi-square test was used for testing the difference in type of diagnosis and sex, two-sample z-test was used to assess the difference in prevalence, and Wilcoxon/Mann–Whitney U-test was used for comparisons of continuous variables (year of birth, year of diagnosis, and age at first diagnosis) between Denmark and Sweden. All statistical comparisons were performed via a two-sided test.
