In the version of this article initially published, due to figure preparation errors, in Fig. 2f, –Val (6 h) condition, the WT images for DAPI and Merge were mistakenly swapped; in Extended Data Fig. 7k, the image of KI cells at 60 h was inadvertently selected from a set of source images captured at 48 h; and in Extended Data Fig. 10e, the images shown for HDAC6 WT, shTet2, 0.41 and HDAC6 ΔSE14, shNC, 0.41 were incorrect. The figures have been corrected in the HTML and PDF versions of the article. For comparison, the original figures are available as Supplementary Information alongside this amendment.
