  1. An independent cohort of n = 70 patients from the same biopsy pipeline in pancreatic and colon cancer surgery was used to make morphological observations across the SMI distribution. Categorical variable (sex) was analyzed by Pearson’s χ2 test, P 0.2. Superscripts a, b and c are comparisons within each sex-specific row to indicate differences at P < 0.05 analyzed by one-way analysis of variance. SMI: Skeletal Muscle Index.
