The design of the HLA-restricted UC peptides of the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein. (a) The structure of the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein (PDB entry 6VSB) is highlighted in red with mutation hotspots of major pandemic VOCs (alpha, beta, gamma, delta, omicron BA.1/BA.2 and BA.4/BA.5). The predicted glycosylation sites of the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein are highlighted in blue. The UC peptides were designed from a well-conserved region of the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein (green shadow region). (b) The UC peptides were designed with a nonlinear sequence of the SARS-CoV-2 spike S2 domain primary structure, which folded to a linear arrangement on the surface of the tertiary structure of the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein.
