(a), (b), and (c) show MRI slices of the lumbar spine in the sagittal and transverse views. (b) and (c) depict the cross-sectional morphology of the lumbar spine at different locations. The factors and indicators associated with lumbar spine diseases primarily concentrate in the vertebral body, vertebral foramen, and lamina, as indicated by the three different colored areas in the images. Due to the staged progression of the condition, even cross-sections from the same area of the lumbar spine can display significant differences.
