The initial dataset comprised of 6,741,176 individuals with health checkup data. The exclusion criteria were as follows: individuals < 40 years of age (N = 2,399,923), those without dental codes for all 28 teeth within 1 year prior to the health check-up (N = 3,064,814), and those with a diagnosis of CVD within 12 months prior to the index date (N = 66,442).
