The inset highlights single cells resolved in the two-photon mode. In the two-photon mode, the light sheet was partially blocked during recording of ventral layers (dashed rectangle) to prevent it from striking the highly pigmented eyes, which would otherwise absorb excessive high-power infrared light, leading to heating and potential damage.
