Red labeling indicates presence of viral RNA. Labeling 5 days p.i. (A, C) was greater and more intense than labeling at 21 days p.i. (B, D), which was generally characterized by individual cells containing one to several dots each (arrows). Viral RNA was not detected in tissues of non-infected control bison.
