Knee Kinematics and EMG Waveform Merged plots of the Fused-Flexor Muscles. In the ‘low’ group tibialis anterior (TA) activity is higher near toe-off (59% of gait cycle). However, medial hamstring activity does not match the TA suggesting a discontinuity in the resected muscle action. Despite the higher TA activity in the ‘low’ group the knee achieves little flexion indicating the necessity of the cooperation of the two resected muscles to produce meaningful force. In the ‘high’ group there is once again a late synchronous spike in TA and medial hamstrings activity following peak knee flexion.
