Illustrated is an exemplary trial configuration. Each trial began with a fixation cross displayed for 100āms. This was followed by a prime (central arrow) for 30āms and a mask (randomly allocated lines) for 30āms. The target (central arrow) and flankers were presented for 100āms, after which the screen turned black. Primes aligning with the target arrow were labeled compatible, while those in the opposite direction were incompatible. Similarly, flankers matching the target arrowsā direction were classified as congruent, and those pointing in opposite directions as incongruent.
