In the version of this article initially published online, there was an error in Fig. 5a, where in the bottom-right panel (P90; Pax2-HuR−/−), the original image was incorrectly sourced from the cochlear specimen of the Atoh1-HuR−/− mouse and has now been replaced with the correct image. Also, in Fig. 7m, in the middle and bottom images of the third column (IHC; GNAI3), the Atoh1-HuR−/− and Pax2-HuR−/− images were transposed. For comparison, the original figures are available as Supplementary information accompanying this amendment. The figures have been corrected in the HTML and PDF versions of the article.
