Statistical analysis of the Raman spectra under 514 nm and 785 nm laser excitation.
Ten determinations each on the tip and the base of arbitrary gustatory wing hairs were analysed for each excitation wavelength. Each of these measures was performed on different wings. The statistical analysis was carried out using Student’s t-test and is represented at the right (bars are the mean + /−SE, n = 10, *p value < 0.0005 between the measurements at the tip and the base of the hairs).
