Strontium analysis of Paranthropus robustus teeth from two South African sites reveals that the Pleistocene hominin probably exploited both savanna and riparian woodland habitats, had a home-range size compatible with that of present-day hunter-gatherers and had periodic ranging patterns. While some individuals lived their lives in the same place, others dispersed during their lifetime.
