The exponential growth of digital information necessitates better data storage solutions. Here, a hydrogel composed of poly(Nisopropylacrylamide) and chitosan is developed as a peptide-based storage media, achieving an ultrahigh data density of 2.44 × 10¹⁰ GB g-1.
