Asymmetric migratory cross-coupling reactions, which proceed with heteroatom-based group migration, are challenging. Now a nickel-catalysed coupling reaction of amino alcohol-derived sulfonates with a variety of carbon-based electrophiles is reported, enabled by a radical 1,2-amino migration process. Modified chiral Bilm ligands are the key factor in achieving high stereoselectivity and reactivity.
