A proteogenomic analysis of cervical cancer reveals therapeutic and biological insights

Cervical cancer remains a significant public health problem in many regions. Here, the authors perform a proteogenomic analysis of cervical cancer in Chinese patients; they reveal proteomic subgroups associated with clinical and biological features, and a potential biomarker of response to radiotherapy.

Scalable preparation of perovskite films with homogeneous structure via immobilizing strategy for high-performance solar modules

Yuan et al. report pyrrodiazole additives for simultaneous immobilizing of lead iodide and formamidinium iodide during slot-die coating perovskite films in air, ensuring consistent growth rate for upper and lower layers of the film, leading to certified efficiency of 20.3% for 10 cm × 10 cm solar modules.

Scavenger receptor-A is a biomarker and effector of rheumatoid arthritis: A large-scale multicenter study

Scavenger receptor-A (SR-A) is mostly expressed by myeloid cells and has been attributed a variety of biological functions. Here the authors assess SR-A as a biomarker for diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) using large-scale training and validation cohorts and show that modulating SR-A levels can alter progression of collagen-induced arthritis in mice.

Wei and colleagues report that phosphorylation of Sin1 by S6K or Akt results in its dissociation from mTORC2, thus suppressing mTORC2 activity. A cancer-patient-derived Sin1 mutation that impairs this phosphorylation leads to mTORC2 hyperactivation and increased tumour formation in mice.
