Electronic origin of high-temperature superconductivity in single-layer FeSe superconductor

The exact mechanism for superconductivity in iron-based superconductors remains elusive, but is thought to involve complex interactions between many orbitals. Using angle-resolved photoelectron spectroscopy, Liuet al. report the electronic structure of the single-layer parent compound FeSe.

Dichotomy of the electronic structure and superconductivity between single-layer and double-layer FeSe/SrTiO₃ films

The critical temperature of single-layer FeSe films is much higher than the bulk of other iron-based superconductors, but the mechanism for this is unclear. Adding to the puzzle, Liu et al.show that it is much more difficult to induce superconductivity in a double-layer FeSe film than a single layer.

Integrating photochemical and photothermal effects for selective oxidative coupling of methane into C₂₊ hydrocarbons with multiple active sites

Achieving both high activity and selectivity in CH₄ photooxidation to C₂₊ hydrocarbons is challenging. This work shows that integrating photochemical and photothermal effects enhances both, enabling efficient CH₄ oxidative coupling to C₂₊ alkanes.

Common electronic origin of superconductivity in (Li,Fe)OHFeSe bulk superconductor and single-layer FeSe/SrTiO₃ films

The mechanism of high-temperature superconductivity in the iron-based materials remains not fully understood. Here, the authors report on ARPES measurements on an FeSe-based bulk superconductor, whose electronic properties are found to be similar to those of single-layer FeSe/STO films.

Phase diagram and electronic indication of high-temperature superconductivity at 65 K in single-layer FeSe films

The unconventional superconductivity associated with iron pnictide materials has been the subject of intense interest. Using an annealing procedure to control the charge-carrier concentration, the behaviour of an FeSe monolayer deposited on SrTiO₃ is now investigated, and indications of superconductivity at temperatures up to 65 K observed.

Giant anomalous Hall effect in a ferromagnetic kagome-lattice semimetal

Electrical transport measurements reveal that Co₃Sn₂S₂ is probably a magnetic Weyl semimetal, and hosts the highest simultaneous anomalous Hall conductivity and anomalous Hall angle. This is driven by the strong Berry curvature near the Weyl points.
