KCTD10 is a sensor for co-directional transcription–replication conflicts

KCTD10 interacts with the DNA replication machinery and the RNA polymerase complex, inducing ubiquitination and removal of the transcription machinery in the event of co-directional transcription–replication conflicts.

Benmelstobart, anlotinib and chemotherapy in extensive-stage small-cell lung cancer: a randomized phase 3 trial

In this triple-arm, placebo-controlled phase 3 trial, first-line treatment of patients with extensive-stage small-cell lung cancer with the anti-PD-L1 benmelstobart, tyrosine kinase inhibitor anlotinib and chemotherapy (CT) showed improved survival outcomes compared with anlotinib and CT or CT alone.

Oncolytic viruses engineered to enforce cholesterol efflux restore tumor-associated macrophage phagocytosis and anti-tumor immunity in glioblastoma

Glioblastoma (GBM) cells are metabolically dependent on exogenous cholesterol uptake and targeting cholesterol metabolism has been proposed as a therapeutic option for GBM. Here the authors show that cholesterol promotes phagocytic dysfunction in tumor associated macrophages and they develop an Apo-A1 armed oncolytic adenovirus restoring anti-tumor immunity in GBM preclinical models.

Clamping effects in ferroelestastic thin films limits their usefulness for applications such as sensitive mechanical sensors. Here, the authors report on non-local mechanical force induced switching in PbTiO₃ thin films by tuning the material to a state of nearly energetically degenerate co-existing domains.

Amyloid β oligomers suppress excitatory transmitter release via presynaptic depletion of phosphatidylinositol-4,5-bisphosphate

The underlying mechanism of amyloid β (Aβ) oligomer-induced aberrant neurotransmitter release remains unclear. Here, authors show that the release probability at the synapse between the Schaffer collateral and CA1 pyramidal neurons is significantly reduced at an early stage in mouse models of AD with elevated Aβ production and is mainly due to an mGluR5-mediated depletion of PIP2 in axons.
