Miyazaki, Takami et al. assess the relationship between biliary atresia and the gallbladder in Sox17 haploinsufficient mice and human biliary atresia patients. They report findings on the perinatal pathological condition in which abnormalities in the gallbladder wall extend to the intrahepatic bile duct through the common hepatic duct.
