PIK3CA mutations often co-occur with known oncogenic drivers in lung cancer, raising questions about their function. Here, the authors show that PIK3CA mutant promotes cachexia progression in EGFR-mutant lung cancer via NF-κB activation, which can be alleviated by combined aspirin treatment.
